Why Performance Builders Exists
IT STARTED WITH A HOME THAT DIDN’T PERFORM
Performance Builders was founded after a firsthand experience that changed the way we think about homebuilding. Like many homeowners, our founder grew frustrated with a home that never performed as well as it should, rooms that were hard to keep comfortable, energy costs that kept climbing, and maintenance issues that appeared sooner than expected.
The more he researched, the more he realized these were symptoms of a larger problem: many homes are built as collections of individual parts rather than as complete systems working together. That led to years of studying how insulation, air sealing, moisture management, ventilation, windows, and mechanical systems shape a home’s performance.
Better homes don’t require dramatically higher budgets. They require a better understanding of how homes actually work. When he applied these principles to his own home, the difference was immediate, more comfortable, quieter, healthier, and more consistent year-round. That experience became the foundation of Performance Builders.
